Antique Tested Silver Phenomenal Bird Claw Talon Brooch Faceted Crystal As Found

  
Description: This is a phenomenal, antique, silver brooch in the shape of a bird claw holding a clear, faceted crystal. The claw is wonderfully sculpted, textured, and detailed and is made of silver that is not marked but tests as silver and is at least 800 silver (lower grade of silver) and may or may not be sterling (925). The crystal is rectangular in shape with rounded corners when looking from the top. It's faceted inside and is cut into a point in the back and these qualities give it some sparkle. The stone is very clear and registers a charge on the gem tester. The color seen in the first picture is a reflection/light refraction as the stone is clear as has been discussed. I was told it was rock crystal so it may be a natural stone but could also be glass that is well done so I don't know for sure. It could be repaired or converted if you choose. This is a fantastic piece that needs a little attention or imagination.

Measurements: Approximately 2 inches long and 5/8 inches wide. The crystal on it's own measures 5/8 inch by 3/4 inch. Condition: Good condition with wear in keeping with age with the exception of the missing fixture as explained above. The stone is in nice shape with a bit of age wear and a few fleabites seen mainly only when looking with magnification.

The piece has not been cleaned so there is some dirt on the underside of the stone. Please also use the photos as a guide as they form part of the description and the condition of a piece is subjective.
