Vintage CORO Enamel BIRD on a Branch Pin Big Pave RS Colorful Brooch So Tweet! Perched on a leafy branch with his head tilted up and beak open, as if singing his little heart out, this beautiful bird is animated, lively and colorful. Set in silver tone metal and 7 colors of enamel, the brooch is highly detailed, from the texturing of the stone-tipped branch, simulating wood, to the red. Charmingly hand painted, the colors were carefully shaded, especially on his head and tail feathers.

And he must be a male bird because his plumage is so colorful! The brooch measures about 2-1/4" wide (measured with the pin stem horizontal) by 2" tall, by about 1/4 deep. It is signed "Coro" faintly, in script on the back of the middle leaf. The style of this Coro signature (and of the piece) dates it to around the 1920's - 1930's (it was in use from 1919 to 1942). Despite its age, the brooch is in Very Good / Excellent vintage condition, with just surface dirt, light scratches and slight dimming of the rhinestones as expected due to age.

The enamel is all original and almost entirely intact, with few, if any, losses. Dark lines you see in the photos on the tail feathers are deliberate enamel accents; not loss.

This bird will be a super addition to a collection and is easy to wear as well. But it is not just for bird lovers; this is one for all your fine feathered friends and will fly out of here in a gift box.
