Presented is an amazing large brooch, in Mexican sterling silver, of a quetzal bird. It sits on a branch with two flowers that have a green stone in their centers. This is a vintage piece.

The quetzal is the national bird and the name of the currency in Guatemala. Please scroll down to see our photographs. The brooch is marked for 925 purity silver.

It has the maker's mark "Prieto" and the address of the workshop in Mexico city: Ave. This brooch is in excellent condition.

It has a good safety catch for the pin. This is a very large, stately piece.
