Antique Edwardian 9ct Rose Gold Gem-set Australian Kookaburra Brooch. A delightful antique kookaburra brooch dating to the Edwardian era, c1910! Made of solid 9ct gold, the gold colour is a yellow and rose hue indicative of antique gold. The kookaburra brooch is a wonderful example of early Australian novelty jewellery, made in the advent of Federation in 1901.
The kookaburra is full of character with textured relief detail on the surface portraying feathers, claw, beak, wing and long tail, he is perched on a slender curled branch. A bright red paste stone rests to one end of the branch, and placed near the opposite end of the branch are two white paste stones, each resting in silver leaf accents. The three paste stones adding a delicate sparkle to the scene! A marquise shaped frame finishes the scene beautifully. A metal pin and'C' clasp to the reverse makes up the rest of brooch.

The antique brooch presents in excellent antique condition. Besides normal surface wear, there is no major marks or damage to the piece or stones.
