A charming antique Belle Époque / Victorian era French 18k rose gold brooch featuring two birds crafted in sterling silver set with rough cut diamonds with little ruby cabochon eyes. Resting on an 18K rose gold perch decorated with pearls. The birds are designed to wiggle a bit on their perch, they move slightly. Has a'C' shaped clasp at the back.
Hallmarked with the French 18K gold standard mark in a form of an eagle's head in use in France from 1838. The pin bearing a goldsmith's mark, appears to be initials H. With a symbol of Jesus Christ on the cross. The birds feature 8 rough cut diamonds of approximately 1.5pts each on their backs. There are 3 cultured pearls of 2.54mm and 2 cultured pearls at 3.19mm.
