Large carved bakelite brooch depicting the mythological phoenix bird on a branch in layered bakelite. Black, yellow and red bakelite layers from back to front. Viewable bakelite when worn is red with yellow accents. Pproximate measurement: 3" x 2 1/4". Lovely, rare and detailed piece!

Excellent vintage condition as shown! Some cracks on back black layer that do not affect beauty, unseen when worn. Metal pin back is highly oxidized and doesn't close. Pictures taken with and without flash.
