This is a very rare Cartier Enamel Pin Brooch from the Conference De Paris 1946. The brooch is signed Cartier on the reverse and is from the Paris Peace Conference which has held at the end of WWII in Paris.

The wonderful brooch has an enamel design with a white dove holding an olive branch as it flies across a blue sky. The image of Peace is exquisite. The brooch is in the form of the earth. The brooch is gold filled. The Paris Peace Conference - 1946 The Paris Peace Conference lasted from 29 July until 15 October 1946.

The victorious wartime Allied powers (principally the United Kingdom, Soviet Union, United States and France) negotiated the details of peace treaties with Italy, Romania, Hungary, Bulgaria, and Finland. The treaties allowed the defeated Axis powers to resume their responsibilities as sovereign states in international affairs and to qualify for membership in the United Nations. The treaties also obliged the various states to hand over accused war criminals to the Allied powers for war crimes trials.

The brooch is 7/8 inches (21mm) tall by 1 inch (26mm) wide. The brooch is signed Cartier on the reverse along with other markings which I cannot decipher.
