Coro Brooch / Pin Blue & Yellow Dove Vintage 60's Signed Sterling Gold

  

CORO SIGNED 1960's STERLING/GOLD DOVE BROOCH. CORO was founded in 1901 by Cohn and Rosenberger and grew to an international jewelry maker known for workmanship and outstanding finish quality. In the 1970's it was acquired by the Oscar de la Renta group. Gene Verri was one of their main designers. The CORO logo was adopted in 1943.

Catamore was contracted to produce their precious metal pieces. This graceful, gold/sterling minimalist stylized Dove? Appears to be gliding with slightly upswept and out-spread wings. Graceful linear lines simulate feathers. The tiny eyes are adorned with one sapphire color rhinestone and the other with an emerald green one.

The base of the tail feathers is accented by three oval yellow/golden color faceted colored glass lined up side by side. The bird is appx 2"x1 1/4" and weighs 10.9 grams. The scripted Coro logo and sterling are on the reverse. The clasp and pin function as they should.

It is in nearly unworn condition. It is an everyday wear piece.
