EXCEPTIONALLY FINE & RARE ANTIQUE NEW ZEALAND KIWI BIRD BROOCH. Presenting a stunning antique 9k yellow gold and natural New Zealand greenstone / Pounamu brooch which has been masterfully crafted into the form of a kiwi bird. This exquisite brooch, dating to circa 1920s has been beautifully finished with exceptional attention to detail. A magnificently coloured rich green cabochon of natural greenstone polished into a teardrop shape forms the body of the bird. The stone is mounted within a 9ct gold setting expertly formed into the shape of the kiwi bird.

The gold is beautifully detailed with fine engraving which both emulates the creatures feathers and magnificently accentuates the stunning sparkle of the quality gold. Delightful little textured feet, an elongated beak and an impressed eye perfectly complete this exceptionally attractive and rare example. The combination of quality 9ct yellow gold and rich greenstone is incredibly attractive.

SIZE: This impressive brooch measures 29.5mms in length x 22mms in height. WEIGHT: This piece has a total weight of 3.77 grams. CONDITION: This stunning brooch is presented in excellent antique condition with no breaks, losses or repairs. The original safety c-clasp and pin remain in place and are in fine and secure working order.

MARKS: This piece is beautifully hallmarked to the reverse with an older "9ct" mark as used during the late 19th and early 20th century.
