A TRULY CHARMING ART NOUVEAU PERIOD SUFFRAGETTE 9CT ROSE & YELLOW GOLD. FITTED BOX & 3.00 GRAMS.

A TRULY WONDERFUL ONE OF A KIND QUIRKY BROOCH & A REAL PERIOD PIECE? This item is not marked but tests as at least 9ct gold and we warrant it as such. This charming item shows 2 love birds in flight and is an Art nouveau design classic. The brooch has a mixture of crystals and seed pearls and has been fashioned in the Suffragette style. The brooch has the unmistakable patina of a well-loved jewel.

The brooch is presented in a lovely leather period fitted box and weighs a total of 3.00 grams. It will make a wonderful gift for your loved one! This type of pendant is exceptionally rare todays market and were not available commercially in period, so many would have been adapted from period jewels by jobbing jewellers, resulting in some unusual designs and a large range of styles.

This pendant is from an earlier period and would have been up to 10 years old when adapted and is of good quality, so a rare survivor? The glass stones featured are Peridot for Green, Amethyst for Violet, clear crystal for White, supposedly symbolizing the Suffragette movements mantra, Give Women the Vote?

These colours were first adopted in C1900 and the colours represent G reen for Hope, W hite for purity and V iolet for dignity. Is a lovely quality custom made item in 2 tone gold and is fitted with the original gold clasp.

1.5 in length and is 1.0 wide. It has an outstanding period patina and has been well loved in the past. This item is in vintage condition 1 /2.

There is no damage to the brooch all of the crystals, seed pearls and stones are in very good order and the curb chain is probably not original. There is some age related delamination to the metal work including minor marking to the metal, which does not detract from the items charm or wear ability. All of our jewellery is carefully cleaned and checked before sale.
