This lovely heirloom will come with the period Victorian jewelry box in the photos, although it is not the original box. You will not be disappointed!
Condition: Stunning condition, given his age. He dates to the late 1800s. There is a minor ding or light scuff on the front, if I can even call it that, but it is evident on magnification.
Any other dents or dings that appear on the photos are produced by light and shadows from my high intensity lamps. The pin stem is slightly curved from incorrect use of the trombone clasp (as mentioned above). The one brilliant cut diamond is a replacement, which was performed some time in the 1950s. Other than light surface scratches, there are no other damages I can visualize.
The box has discoloring, thead loss to the velvet, etc. It is far from perfect but it seems to fit the bird perfectly. Provenance: This is a family heirloom, and has been under their watchful eyes for four generations. The maternal line was Danish, and although I do not have a way to confirm it, this may be how the bird made its transatlantic flight!Offers: Please be considerate with your offers. I will consider ones that I believe will help both the family and the new owner. This is not a garage sale item. Most of the pieces listed this year have been off-market for over 10 years or from my personal collection.

Let's be good trading partners and do our best. What condition are these pieces in: These items are all vintage, antique (older than 50 years), or from a secondary contemporary marketplace.
As such, there will be scuffs, scratches on stones and metal, visible use, sometimes slightly bent ring bands or clasps or rings that need attention. I will do my best to photograph these or point out any issues. I leave the patina on pieces, especially with oxidation. If you would prefer something to be shinier and polished before it is mailed, please contact me and I will use an industry recommended product to hand polish, although it may leave a slight odor that can easily be removed by you with rinsing in water with gentle detergents. I will provide a free jewelry pouch for most items unless the item is too large to fit. Allergy alert: This is a smoke-free household but we do have cats, so if a stray hair makes its way into your package, I cannot take responsibility for your allergic reaction. But I promise, the cats are not allowed to wear the jewelry when they party at night. This item is in the category "Jewelry & Watches\Vintage & Antique Jewelry\Brooches & Pins".
