Vintage Artisan Sterling Silver Shell Cameo Brooch H/M Edinburgh 1972 N. Vintage Artisan Sterling Silver Lady & Bird Shell Cameo Brooch H/M Edinburgh 1972 N. Enchanting is the word for this incredible vintage artisan cameo brooch. Set in a thick, quality sterling silver mount, hallmarked Edinburgh 1972 with sponsors mark N. The shell cameo has a mystical quality to it, depicting a lady with a bird perched on her hand, with tree branches in the background. It is beautifully hand carved with excellent execution of the layers of the shell to create colour/shading, notably to the strands of her hair. The cameo is domed into the silver frame, to beautiful effect. Antique type tube hinge, pin and roll over safety catch fastener to reverse. All in good working order.
