By far one of Marcel Boucher rarest Pieces. The condition is incredible for it's age. However it is MISSING THE BIRD(Sad face emoji).
THE MECHANICAL DOOR IS IN FULL WORKING ORDER, OPENS WHEN YOU PULL THE CHAIN. Rhodium plated base metal, rhinestones, enamelling, faux pearl on the end of the chain. On pulling the chain, the door opens to reveal the cuckoo, which would tremble on a spring, bearing its subtitle sign. Marked : MB (phrygian cap)Pat Pend. Reference : Roberto Brunialti communicates that this piece was advertised in Vogue, 15 February 1941.
Part of the Boucher'moveable' series of 1940. I have only seen one other before priced little under 7,000. On a personal note-I cannot believe it is in this great condition front and back, but missing the bird.. 2.45" x 1.85" x 0.75" from side, chain hangs down 2".
