Absolutely beautiful gold over sterling silver figural birdhouse featuring textured birdhouse and two birds sitting on a tree branch. Round 1/4 diameter ruby red rhinestone and 10 smaller clear rhinestones arranged in halo shape in the center.

Birdhouse is surronded by vines with 4 red rhinestone flowers. The craftsmanship of this piece is superb! Based on style, construction and marking I would date this brooch 1930's-40's. Like most of the sterling silver jewelry of this perios the brooch is maked STERLING. Birds to me look similar to 1940's sterling bird pins by Coro Craft, but it's just a wild guess.
