The brooch is featured in "Costume Jewelry 101" by Julia C. Carroll on page 60, Carroll shares, "Delicate 1 3/4" gold tone flying bird pin with textured gold wing and a luminescent baby blue moonstone body.

Notice the pave' rhinestone details on the head and body. In a 1960's advertisement, Trifari introduced a flock of these tiny birds. The ad reads Birds in flight to be worn in a flock or singly. A true collector's piece.
