Here's a vintage gilt sterling brooch by noted artist Ilana Goor. This features a bird--a prominent motif in Goor's work--perched upon a scepter-like object. Striking and textural design that pops on a blazer lapel. Ilana Goor was born in Tiberias, Israel in 1936.
She began sculpting in Los Angeles in the 60s and her first one woman show took place at the L. She came to NYC in the 80s and began producing her distinctive sculptural jewelry and accessories. Her work is included in numerous private and public collections, including that of her namesake museum in Jaffa.
